Perkins used strong, controversial language to voice his opinion: “Let’s have a moment of silence for the deceased.” He referred to James, Curry, and Durant as “dead birds and tall grass,” claiming they will never again compete for a title on the grand stage. “Those days are over. None of these three will win another NBA championship for the rest of their careers.”
James’ situation is particularly uncertain. He now faces a decision: continue playing or retire as one of the most accomplished players in NBA history. If he chooses to return, it’s hard to completely dismiss his ability to compete. Perkins is clearly pessimistic, but superstars often find ways to win.
