Former CSKA Moscow player Alexander Grishin has stated that if Jose Mourinho takes over as head coach of Real Madrid, he will need to remove either Kylian Mbappe or Vinicius Junior from the squad. Grishin made these remarks during an appearance on the program “All on Match!” on the Match TV channel.
Journalist Ciro Lopez recently reported on the radio show “El Tertulión de Tiempo de Juego” on COPE that Real Madrid plans to announce Mourinho’s appointment at the end of the season. The team is currently managed by Alvaro Arbeloa.
“The smartest move if he joins the team would be to get rid of Mbappe or Vinicius. This way, the coach shows all the players that he is the one in charge,” Grishin said during the broadcast.
Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, leading the club to win the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup. Currently, the 63-year-old coach is at the helm of Benfica.
