All eyes were on Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo the moment the final whistle blew in Tuesday evening’s Riyadh derby between Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal.

Al-Nassr conceded a heartbreaking stoppage-time goal to Al-Hilal, delaying the Saudi Pro League title celebration after a 1-1 draw in a thrilling, dramatic derby.

Substituted in the final minutes, Ronaldo had fired up the crowd, urging them to push the team to victory and clinch the title. But he suffered a huge shock when goalkeeper Bento’s error led to a goal for Al-Nassr’s rivals, postponing the decisive moment.

Immediately after the final whistle, Ronaldo remained seated on the bench, his face reflecting shock and disappointment at failing to seal the Saudi league title that night. He then left the bench, gesturing with his arms as if lamenting his misfortune, having been ready to claim his first trophy with Al-Nassr. The draw leaves Al-Nassr top with 83 points, five points ahead of Al-Hilal, who have a game in hand. Al-Nassr’s title win is now delayed: they need to beat Damac in their remaining match, or hope Al-Hilal slip up in either of their games against Neom and Al-Fayha.
