Porto 3-0 Moreirense | Portuguese League
Gabri Veiga delivered a heartfelt tribute to Thiago Silva by scoring the opening goal in Porto’s 3-0 win, just hours after the Brazilian defender’s mother passed away. The former Celta Vigo star rushed to reveal a shirt bearing Silva’s name and number after finding the net.

The match was overshadowed by the death of Angela, Thiago Silva’s mother, which forced the veteran center-back—formerly of Chelsea and PSG—to miss the game. Porto responded with an emotional victory that temporarily lifts them to the top of the table, seven points clear of Sporting CP (who have a game in hand) and Benfica.
Veiga broke the deadlock in the 14th minute. Deniz Gul won the ball high up the pitch and fed Pietuszewski, whose shot was saved by the goalkeeper. The rebound fell perfectly for Veiga to tap home. It marked his fifth goal and tenth assist of the season.
The second goal arrived in the 25th minute. Pepe Aquino led a counterattack, slid the ball to Froholdt, who laid it back for Oskar Pietuszewski to curl a shot into the far corner.
Porto sealed the win in the 81st minute with the best goal of the night. William Gomes received a pass from Froholdt, cut inside, and unleashed a curling strike reminiscent of Arjen Robben—a stunning effort that left the goalkeeper with no chance.
